Fairyland Aromatics is a small, family run business, based in Aberfoyle, Scotland at the gateway to the Trossachs.
The inspiration for Fairyland Aromatics has come from many directions and is the culmination of several decades of interest
in natural therapies and spontaneous, natural healing.
Our main aim is to provide products which reflect the true spirit of herbal medicine; we supply and use 100% pure
ingredients of high grade, therapeutic quality and avoid the addition of unnecessary additives, wherever possible.
We do not sell perfumes or adulterations.
Place is very important to us. Fairyland Aromatics is based in the oldest part of Aberfoyle,
the 'Fairy Capital of Scotland'. Most of this acclaim comes from one man, Reverend Robert Kirk,
a local Minister and Gaelic translator. Kirk had close associations with the Fairies of Aberfoyle.
In 1691 he published some of his observations and experiences in the book 'The Secret Commonwealth of Elves,
Fauns and Fairies'. However, contemporary sightings confirm that the magical folk are still thriving in the
area and reaffirm Aberfoyle as being the Centre of Scotlands 'Fairyland'.
New Years Day in Fairyland.
We made our usual pilgrimage to the Fairy Hill, in Aberfoyle, on New Years Day. We hung our wishes from the trees,
spent time admiring the many new wishes and offerings which have been placed and joined hands around the
'Ministers Pine' to meditate and focus.
The quality of sunlight on that day was very special, making the oaks and pines shimmer with light and warming
us with the promise of good things to come in 2009.
